Thank you for coming by...

There are a lot of Seconlife fashion blogs out there to chose from which is why I haven't decided to do another one... Well, not exactly anyway. I would really like to share the wonderful world of alternative fashion with you.. I highlight everything from Retro to Gothic, from Latex to Cyber. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of great haute couture out there in our virtual world but to me the fun lies in the cracks and crevasses that is alt fashion. I hope you will join me for lots of fun and some wonderful looks. your comments are always welcome as are any requests. Lets explore the edgier side of fashion together!

The crimson Shadow, Take two

So I wasn't very happy with my post earlier today.  I just really couldn't get into the styling of it and there were issues with the costume and I could go on and on and on... I just thought it could be better so I redid the picture... Completely.  Here is the retake, let me know what you think.  (Style card available on request.
The Crimson Shadow Take 2
)

The Crimson Shadow

Ok sweeties... I've been a little busy learning some new Photoshop techniques.  I have had a little bit of a creative outburst which has put my regularly scheduled blog on hold for a bit, not that I won't post here it may just not be your normal stuff.  But then isn't that what a blog is for?  Please feel free to comment on any of my work any time you like.

The Crimson Shadow
I have been exploring comic book art/techniques and thought it might be a lot of fun to create so here is my very first test into this pop art realm.  I'm actually making a page right now with villain and everything.  I'm not sure how far I will go but we'll see.  I just love this sort of creative exploration.  Right now I'm looking for poses and a nice grungy city location... I hope you enjoy and I'm looking forward to your comments.

Waves of fun!

Cully Catchin Waves
Are you looking for something different to do on your Friday night?  Maybe you have gotten bored with going to the nightclub or those once oh so exciting Adult location have lost their luster.  If that's the case then I highly recommend you check out the new surf beach at Eden Naturalists resort.  That's right, the place that has come to be the largest nudist resort in SL has opened a clothing optional wave beach.

When I saw it my first thought was that it reminded me of Braata Beach from years ago.  It's done very tastefully and uses the same set of beach etiquette guidelines as Braata used to.  That means that surfers have the right of way and we can all can have fun shredding and cutting just like we  used to.  There is a rumor that they even want to start surfing competitions and maybe even have a seasoned SL surfer there to give tips to those just discovering SL surfing.  I'm very excited for them and I look forward to spending as much time there as possible even if it's just laying on the beach and writing my blog for all you lovelies.

Analog Surf
If you have never been surfing in SL you may be asking yourself, "Gina, how can I get kitted out to catch some most excellent waves?".  Well I'm here to help.  One of my favorite places to get surfboards is Analog Surf shop.  The nice thing is that the boards are scripted to work with the most popular wave that is out right now which is made by the same people.

Yet another Second Life blog...: Sparrow Industries... it's been a while.

I don't know much about the alt tracking business but Potsies advice is really sound.  Be aware of what is happening to your avi cuz if your not bad things can happen...

So Sugar laid this Apron on us the other day and all I could think about was a kitchen and baking... Don't we all bake in 11 inch heels and pearls?  I had so much fun putting this together from building the set to styling my look, this was just so cool to do!  If you ever need retro furniture go to Artilleri, you can't go wrong.

Just a little pit stop

Today I thought I would share with you another of my favorite Designers paired with the New Bax Regency Boots.  This sassy little Leather dress I'm wearing is from a very talented designer named Etchaflesh.  She makes a lot of excellent Mesh corsets as well as some very nice dresses along with some other wonderful items.  You just have to take a trip to her store and have a look at all her wares!

Bax Coen has been around for a very long time and always makes great boots and these are no exception.   They come in seven colors so you can pair them with almost anything.  Very much worth a look at no matter what your style preferences.

I would also like to mention my hair, it's from Discord Designs and if you are looking for braids or dreadlocks you need look no further.  I have never seen a larger selection of styles in SL and for you guys they also make beards.

I hope you have enjoyed my little post and everybody have a great day...

More Shoes...

Yesterday Sugar Dropped these cute little sneakers on me so I just had to come up with something cute to show them off.  Considering I just got this really neat pose prop for from LostAngel Industries I figured it was a no brainer.  For some reason the the first thought was to pair them with something Vintage.  I know, they're not Vintage shoes, but you know me?  I'm a Vintage freak, so here is my offering.  I hope you all like it.

One of those days

Have you ever had one of those days where you just want to throw on a little dress and a pair of tennies and call it done.  Well I have been having one of those weeks.  All this smoke and ickiness from the fires in California just wipe a girl out.  I think Sugar must have been reading my mind as she has just made this cute little mini dress that is so perfect for days like this.  I'm sure it would go with almost anything you choose and comes in 14 different patterns for you to have fun with.  I loved this one as soon as I saw it.  It's called "Monsters" and it's a brand new pattern.  Thanks for being a mind reader Sugar!

Retro Retro Retro

I don't think Sugar ever seems to rest and I'm still catching up.  I just love her creations, after all I'm a retro girl at heart.  Well Sugar has done it again with this classic Pencil Dress.  It's slim and sleek and shows of your every curve perfectly.  As always it comes in so many patterns you may just have to get more than one.

I kept things simple this time as I didn't want to distract from the classically elegant lines of this beautiful dress.

Shoes!!!

Do I need to say more?  You can never have enough shoes and Sugar has two amazing pair for us!  They are both totally awesome but totally different.  The Mary Janes have a really nice retro feel too them while the Rubber Boots in black could go with almost anything... I've paired them here with a Modern/futuristic look from Graves and a pair of headphones from Sys.  As far as the Mary Janes I thought I would do a little more Euro style ad and just go sans clothes.  I didn't want to distract from their simple beauty.  I did a Rock-a-billy/ Suicide Girls look and left everything else just pretty simple to let the shoes shine through.  I really hope you go out and get yourselves a pair as soon as you can, Sugar has made another hit!

The cutest little skirt...

Sugar is at again...  She has been busy making stuff all week.  Us bloggers have had our mail boxes full of all sorts of wonderful goodies, So many that we just can't keep up.  It's absolutely the coolest thing to blog for somebody that is so prolific.  I picked this little skirt out of all the stuff and just fell in love with it.  It's the sort of thing that no wardrobe should be without!  I mean really... Go get it!  It's perfect!  It comes in so many colors and patterns, get two... Or Three!  My only problem was that it would go with so many things that I couldn't make up my mind what to wear on top, so I just gave up.

In this outfit is Sugar's Mesh Apparel Vintage Pencil Skirt
N-Core  Delicious Sandals
My favorite glasses from PurpleMoon The Dorthy Cat Eyes

My Bracelet is from Bewildebeest who are no longer in business and my earrings are from a little company called Po's Fantasies who has also left SL unfortunately.

The Monroe piercing is from A.S.S who is fortunately still around (and it is a free gift, or at least was)  and my beautiful necklace is from Mandala

and Route 66 hair from Vanity Hair.
My skin is League once again

For those of you that might be interested I use Lumipro for all my lighting.

This out fit comes with a pretty slinky black skirt but the top comes in 20 different patterns or so.  I fell in love with this one.  It's skulls and roses, how cute is that?  I got the hair at the recent hair fair so I did my part, I found about a dozen or so that really caught my eye and I will be sharing them in the weeks to come

Trying something new...

Today I just wanted to see if I could add a light beam to a picture and I think it came out pretty good for a first try.  For those that might be interested the outfit is a mash up of Graves.  This was taken at the Insilico Sim.  It's a great place to do Science Fiction themed pictures.  Thank for stopping by and feel free to leave me a message if you like.

Back to what I really like to create...

I've been doing a bit of fashion the last few days but I really wanted to get back to what I really enjoy, editorial imagery.  I was exploring along route 66 today and I found this gas station .  I thought it was a perfect place for a picture so I stopped and made one.  It's titled "Out of Gas"

It's lit with my Lumipro which I love and all of the depth of field work is done in Photoshop as is the vingetting.  The motorcycle is by M19 and my wardrob is a Mash up.  This is one of the few images I've created without my signature glasses but I just didn't like the way the pictures were coming out so there you go.  I hope you like it, I really enjoyed creating it.

Burlesque and other funness!

I logged in this morning and lo and behold, what did I find!  Sugar over at Sugar Mesh Clothing has delivered another incredible treat for all of us that just love glamour and who doesn't?  This is a lovely corset with an attached ruffled mini skirt that is reminiscent of classic Burlesque!  You all need to run over and have a look,

It is the cutest thing and it comes in nearly 40 different fabrics so you can get one to go with almost anything or any occasion.  Here I have modeled a pretty little pink pinstripe and a leopard print and paired it with some gorgeous vintage stockings and a garter belt.  The skin I'm using is by League as always and the make-up is by my favorite designer, Mockie over at Mock Cosmetics.  Oh! And that bad girl tattoo is from Endless pain...

Remember not to let anybody tell you what is beautiful, because only you can be the judge of that.

Teasers and catch up

It's been a little while sence I had time to add to my blog and sense I had anything new for that matter but here we are.  I'm working on an editorial project with my wonderful wife Cully and I wanted to do a test shot of the outfit I've styled for it.  We will be shooting it for a contest she is entering in association with Assis Gallery.  If you haven't been there you really should go check it out, they have some amazing artists showing there.

In this photo I am wearing Caprices from Sugar, my top is Candy Doll, my jewelry is older FineSmith, my shoes are VvB and my hair is Tiny Bird which unfortunately has retired her business.
As always my skin is League and my make-up is from the incomparable Mock Cosmetics.  The Glasses are something new I found from PM and I just love them!  They are color changeable in all sorts of ways!  I totally recommend if you are into retro.   If you have any question you just feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer.

Love you all and stay creative and remember not to let anybody tell you what is beautiful, because only you can be the judge of that.

Dirty Jobs

Yesterday I had had the privilege of working with Sydney Bonde again. I always enjoy it but this time was extra special.  Last week during the alley shoot we did that I should take off my pretty dress and just crawl around in the dirt.  Well Sydney thought that was a great idea and this is what came from  that simple suggestion.

As you can see, an SL models work isn't always cushy, in fact I really got dirty on this one.  She Took a lot of pictures during this shoot and I'm glad she did because I think we really got something special this time around.  I have found myself more interested in telling a story with my stylings than show what so many other blogs do so well with high fashion and the latest thing to hit SL.  Don't get me wrong, I appreciate those things but I figure you all have enough places to look for that sort of thing and it is my job to bring you something different.  If any of you have any ideas please leave a comment and let me know, I will be happy to consider them.

You can see the rest of the images on my Flickr page here.  There are 7 in all and I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did making them.  In the coming weeks we have plans for a lot more ideas and off beat stories as well a few twists and turns on some old favorites. So please keep coming back, or better yet follow my blog, you will find out that it isn't your normal  SL Fashion blog.

I'm including a Style card/listing in case you want to turn yourself into a retro grease monkey As well

Skin: League Isla Sunkiss
Hair: Artilleri Trixie hair cinnamon
Grease marks: [:[T]:] Grease Monkey Stains - Torso & Face

All Make up is M.O.C.K Cosmetics as always.  Have fun with your SL and maybe I'll run into you in world sometime.

Until next time Muah!

Time again

Hello there, I know it's been a long time but I finally decided it was time to start creating outfits again So I have Hooked up with my friend Sydney Bonde (Whose link is on my page) and we are creating some wonderful looks again.

This one is a Sonatta Morales dress.  I really love Sonatta's attention to detail with all her clothes.  For historic Retro she is one of the best, go see her in world at http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Old%20Time%20Prims/142/165/752.  You won't be sorry. I decided to go go more historic than retro with this outfit although the shoes are N-Core and the jewels are Earthstone.  I started using Laegue skins recently and I really like them.

I hope you like my first entry from a long time away.  If you have any questions about this outfit or where I like to shop please look me up in SL and drop me a IM.  Kisses to all my friends and fans.  Stay tuned because Syd and I have two more shoots already planned and they both are going to blow you away.
